April-May 2018 Prayer Letter

May 16, 2018

And God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

Dear Friends and Family,

It has been six months since I left Pennsylvania for Peru.  Avivamiento Amazonica S. A. which means “Renewal in the Amazon”, is the non-profit 501(c) (3) organization which was started in 1996 whose mission is to bring the gospel to the unreached and revitalize the church in the Amazon region of South America. It comes with great rewards, success and failures, a time of reaping and a time of sorrows. But, I am reminded that we serve a faithful God, and  through it all He keeps me going.

I made a short sweet trip to San Lorenzo at the beginning of April, with four days of meetings where I spent time with the leadership there to encourage and engage, and for them to understand the biblical basics of leadership. My work with the students of MEPI continues to be a blessing.

I had planned to make another river trip in April, but the rivers are dangerous right now due to the rain and the banks overflowing.
We also have been forced to stay off of the rivers due to some military actions being taken in the area.

Praise that Ron was able to copy many verse by verse teachings by Chuck Smith in Spanish on flash drives, which are still on the way to Peru. This will be a huge asset for the leadership here.
Thanks to all who contributed to the literature fund, I was able to purchase some bibles and study materials, which I hope to distribute soon.  Praise the Lord for my new mattress and bed frame, it is helping with my back problems.
Praise that I was able to invite and cover the cost for one of the leaders and his wife from Estrajo that I have been working with
to a Marriage Conference in Iquitos last week. They were thrilled and said they were “Blessed”. I also gave them a Thompson Chain Reference Bible and Dictionary, which I plan on teaching them how to use these tools. Praise God.

As I prepare for the next half of my stay here I invite you to pray with me as I press on with the mission.
URGENTLY PRAY:
PRAY for God’s direction and not my own understanding
PRAY that I will be continually being filled with the Holy Spirit
PRAY against any spiritual warfare
PRAY that God would continue to provide financial and prayer support
PRAY for health. That God would heal any sickness or physical pain and for a sound mind
PRAY for ministry opportunities
PRAY for safety
PRAY for the people of Peru
PRAY for the rivers to be travelable again
PRAY for the God’s leading for more visits and where I will travel
PRAY for funding for more literature for leaders
PRAY for an impact of the gospel in this part of the world

“Lord, above all else help me to spend my days loving You and carrying out Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray.”

If you would like to be involved, then go HERE!!

Love,
Clif
