Heading back to Peru Prayer Letter

January 3, 1019

Dear Friends, Brothers and Sisters in Christ: I greet you all in the name of Jesus,

It was such a joy to spend the past two months with my dear friends and church family, during the Christmas season. The time spent among all of you, has been both emotionally and spiritually up lifting.

At this time, I am firmly committed to the Lord’s calling to the work in Peru. I will be returning on Thursday January 10. The organization I work for is Avivamiento Amazonico S. A. (“Renewal in the Amazon”). This is a non-profit 501c3 organization which was started in 1996. Their mission is to bring the gospel to the unreached and revitalize the church in the Amazon region of South America.

I am thankful for what has been accomplished in my first year in Peru. I was able to assess where I was supposed to go and where to focus this coming year. The Lord has opened doors in two towns, San Lorenzo with about 5,000 residents and Estrescho with about 1500 residents. Estrescho is on the Putumayo River on the border of Peru and Columbia. My contact person in Estrescho is Enrique. He is the leader of the church there.

The second town is San Lorenzo which is on the Marañon River, one of the two contributories of the Amazon. My two contacts in San Lorenzo are Melec, Pastor of a MEPI church and Justo, a missionary in this area from MEPI. Mission Evangelical Pentecostal Independent is the local Peruvian mission that I support by teaching God’s Word and upholding them spiritually. San Lorenzo is centrally located in the Province of Datem Del Maranon with a population of about 45,000 people. The majority of the people in the Province of Datem Del Maranon are indigenous.

I put together a map showing the places I’ve been traveling.  It’s HERE!!

Melec, Justo and Enrique are the three brothers in Christ who are willing to learn, and I will be working side-by-side with them to reach and teach in places that no one else wants to go, including most Peruvians. My vision for the coming year is to set up a more consistent, relevant, training through practical ministry application. We are praying for an increase in participation of the leaders and I want to encourage them in this effort. Therefore, we are planning a Pastor’s Conference late March 2019. This could involve 75 or more pastors, that will travel long distances.
“The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life.” Proverbs 13:4

The fields are ripe for Harvest and I am willing to take part in the Harvest.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.” Luke10:1-3

I am calling on you to partnership with me in spirit with your continued prayers, love and financial support. The Lord has blessed this ministry abundantly. Praise God!
