February 2024 Prayer Letter

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!

1 Chronicles 16:34

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings to you from Peru. I pray that your new year has stared well and will continue to do so. Your friendship and partnership are very much appreciated!

It is my pleasure to inform you that the Avivamiento Amazonica “Ministry Boat” has been completely finished!  It was delivered by barge to San Lorenzo on Friday, February 2, 2024. On Tuesday February 6, I will have flown to San Lorenzo to take possession of the boat. Paperwork is time consuming here in Peru. Pray for total legitimacy without complications.

Most of my time so far of this year has been spent in Iquitos where the boat was being constructed. It was very important that I keep my EYES on this important project. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to take part in a one hour “break in” period for the engine. A full six hours were necessary. The Yamaha outboard motor is a 4 stroke, 60hp engine. This is so much more economical than the 2 stroke rental boat that was used in the past. It is remarkably faster, reducing the travel time up river (Marañon and many other rivers). It runs, it floats and looks great. PTL!  Furthermore, we received all the necessary funding for the boat, motor and trailer. Truly answered prayer. We have seen God’s hand in everything throughout this project and are so thankful to serve a God who provides fresh starts and new beginnings!

My dear friend, Julio César is a missionary pastor of MEPI. I consider him my right hand man. I do whatever I can to support his family with emotional care and financial assistance. Julio’s nineteen year old daughter, Sarai is seriously ill with Lupus. It is recommend for them to travel to Lima for a full medical diagnosis. Praise God for the love offering from my home church to help this wonderful servant of the Lord. Please keep them in your prayers for complete healing.

Ed Brauer from Philadelphia will be flying to Peru the end of March. He will accompany me for five days. We will be traveling the Curari and Cahuapans rivers and visiting an area of indigenous people. We want to experience firsthand the needs of these brothers in Christ. Please pray for us to recognize God’s directions, His wisdom and His protection.

We also expect to visit the Achuar and Awajun people north of San Lorenzo on a separate occasion.

PRAYER NEEDED FOR:

*Pray paperwork for boat goes smoothly.

*Keep Sarai and her family in prayer as they go through this difficult time. For for healing and the funds they will need to travel to Lima

*Pray for Ed Brauer to have safe travels to Peru in March. Pray that God will open doors that need to be open, or close them. Pray for the spirit to be upon Ed and myself on this new adventure.
