July 2022 Prayer Letter

July 17, 2022

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!
1 Chronicles 16:34

Dear Family and Friends,

We can make our plans, but the LORD will determine our steps.
Proverbs 16:9

As I compose this newsletter, there are still many plans in the works to be completed for the upcoming conference this coming October.  We are anxiously looking forward to October 17-22 for the next Bible teaching program. The theme for this conference is “The Return of Jesus Christ” as found in Matthew 24. This topic was requested by the indigenous peoples we serve. They really have a hunger for God and His Word. We have scheduled October 24-28 for the practical life skills programs. There will be two of these hands-on type workshops: instructions for using and maintaining a chain saw and basic sewing skills including clothing repair.

We are pleased to have Eddie and Nose returning as speakers from Calvary Chapel Philadelphia and new to the conference, Pete Emery from Calvary Chapel Central Bucks. Pete has been involved with missions in Ecuador, and is currently on furlough with his family in Bucks County, PA. Another new addition is Felix, a native born Peruvian from Iquitos. He has attended three years of Bible College in Brazil, he has returned to serve the Lord’s people in his native country. What a great team!! The travel arrangements and airline tickets have been purchased and we PRAISE THE LORD for His hand in all the details.
Please lift up Julio Céasar (a missionary in the area from MEPI) and I as we will be back and forth to San Lorenzo a few more times, as we finish up with the rest of the details before August.

I was both honored and truly blessed to have been chosen by the coordinators of the Calvary Chapel Central Bucks VBS to be their “Mission Project” this year. Please watch the video (click below) that was shown during the Bible School program. They blessed me with a monetary gift that will be used for the work spreading the Good News in Peru.

Please continue to pray for my health. I recently experienced a brief episode of feeling quite drained both physically and emotionally. As it turned out, I was diagnosed with a parasite…another case of on-the-job-hazards in the jungle. Thankfully, with medical care, I am feeling much better now.
JUST peachy!!

I will be returning to the U.S.A. at the end of August for a month of rest and renewal. I’ll be looking forward to seeing as many of my dear friends as I possibly can.
