March 2022 Prayer Letter

March 27, 2022

Dear Family and Friends,

Buenos Días from Iquitos, Peru! We have been busy over the last two months traveling the rivers and planning for the year ahead.

As recorded in the last new letter, the building project to replace the tin roof at Mission Conference Center was not completed. For 2022 one main objective was to finish this project. Efforts have been made to purchase and deliver the tin to San Lorenzo. A team from Alaska who work with Amazon Outreach graciously paid for the tin and roofing supplies. The tin and supplies were purchased in Tarpoto, a commercial hub town which is linked to the Upper Amazon River.

The supplies were then transported by boat to San Lorenzo. The team of the three men, Mike Sandstrom, Willy Matson, Javier Reina and myself flew to San Lorenzo to pick up the materials. We had plenty of help from the indigenous people to unload supplies off the boat. With the help from the Alaskan work team, the construction project was completed in just one and a half days. I love how God connects us together to get His work accomplished.

Mike, Willy and Javier also worked on a church in the same area affiliated with MEPI. The members raised money for most the work to be completed.  The Alaskan men purchased the cement for the concrete floor. Once the floor was completed, they headed home. How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Looking forward to the upcoming conference to be held in San Lorenzo at the Mission Conference Center. The dates for the three day workshop will be October 17-22. We will have a sewing workshop for women and a outboard motor workshop for men. The teaching part of the conference will be October 24-28. The theme this year is “Love your neighbor”

*How scripture relates to everyday living
*How the church relates to culture
*Inductive Bible Study
*Personal character

Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:37-39

Great News!! Ed Brauer and Nose from Calvary Chapel Philadelphia will be coming back to Peru to teach. Praying for two other teachers for the conference. Maybe you?

May our faithful stewardship be a witness to the love of Jesus Christ in our lives. We pray with grateful hearts in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
