May 2026 Prayer Letter
May 30, 2026
Psalm 118:24
It’s hard to believe that I have been a missionary for Avivamiento Amazonica in Peru for nine years. My thoughts and prayers have led me to take this opportunity to warmly thank each and every friend for your continuing involvement in this vital ministry. You have blessed us with your prayers and financial support enabling us to bring the gospel message to the lost indigenous souls in countless Amazon villages. PRAISE GOD!
Thank you and may you be richly blessed.
I am pleased and thankful to announce the addition of Louis Gonzalez to our ministry. He lives in San Lorenzo and serves with MEPI (Mission Evangelical Pentecostal Independent). Louis has become a partner in our ministry sharing his expert knowledge of traveling the tributary rivers of the Amazon. Earlier this spring I was able to accompany Louis, his wife, and children to the village of Indiana on the Ucayali River. I did this in order to support Louis while visiting his father, Francisco who is ill. I have not been to that area for 27 years. What a joy it was to spend time with this family and reminisce of the past.
I have been suffering with some health challenges for at least 18 months. The pain had become more intense in the last month. Even though the pain level impacts my daily routine, I felt it was important to visit my friend David Mahon and his family. I stayed with them for a week in Trillo on the Pacific coast. It was a blessed time to be with my good friend and his wife. They prayed for me and offered their loving advice.
After returning to Iquitos, I met a traveling (itinerant) missionary. You might say this was an accidental meeting or even coincidental that our paths crossed. But, I fully believe that it was God’s perfect timing and his almighty hand that brought us together. His name is Urie. He was on his way down river to his next mission. During our conversations, we discussed my health issues. Urie was so moved that he had to lay hands on me and pray. Matthew 8:3 says Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, …It was the next morning I realized I was no longer in pain. It was a miracle!! I rejoiced and praised God for his goodness and grace. We certainly serve a mighty God. As you read this letter, we are still unable to use the mission boat. This has led to the cancellation of trips to the outlying villages. Consequently, our only communication is when the pastors come to San Lorenzo for business. Therefore, we have made printed invitations detailing all the pertinent information for the conference. In anticipation of the Pastor conference in October, we are working on the remodeling of the mission boat and also repairing roofs at the mission compound. The dates are set: Prayers for 2026: PRAY for: Thank you for your prayers of support Thank you for your generosity Thank your for touching so many lost lives.
